Transferring from the University of Toronto to Pratt Institute or NYU?

I'm currently in my first year, attending the University of Toronto majoring in International Relations and I don't think I made the right choice. I want to transfer over to Pratt Institute for their writing program or NYU for journalism and I don't know where to begin. Help?
