Questions about art school and an art-related career?

Know what you want. Don't be afraid to take a year or two between high school and college. You say you want "something art related"--but you can't get a job doing "stuff". You get a job designing, curating, rendering, whatever. Do you want to do layout work for advertising? Do you want to design product packaging? Find a realistic goal (no "I'm gonna be a famous painter" junk--I'm not saying not to try for that, but don't put all your eggs in that basket. By all means pursue it as a secondary career, and if you make it you make it, but don't hold your breath for it), and then find out about your options from there. There is no catch-all school for all the arts; the quality widely varies from program to program.
